Marybeth Kiczenski to Offer New Mexico Adventure Pre-Conference Workshop
2023 speaker Marybeth Kiczenski is running a night photography adventure to Bisti Badlands/De Na Zin Wildnerness and Ship Rock May 10-13.
Marybeth Kiczenski, who was a speaker at the 2023 Nightscaper Photo Conference, will offer a New Mexico Adventure night photography adventure before the 2026 conference.
Participants will enjoy a three-day, three-night trip to explore the land of enchantment in the Four Corners area. With an experienced Navajo guide, attendees will immerse in legends, lore, the world of dark skies and otherworldly formations.
Day 1: Afternoon meet/greet and gear check. Meet local guide for a night shoot at the Bisti Badlands/De Na Zin Wildnerness.
Day 2: Meet local guide for a night shoot at Shiprock Peak.
Day 3: Return to Bisti Badlands/De Na Zin Wildnerness.
The adventure involves as much as 5 to 6 miles of walking over terrain that is moderately difficult over long slopes with occasional high steps, and a 9-mile drive on rough road, requiring a vehicle with ground clearance.
The workshop runs May 10-13, 2026, and will be immediately followed by the 2026 Nightscaper Photo Conference, which runs May 14-17.
For more information about the workshop and to register, visit Marybeth’s New Mexico Adventure webpage.
Marybeth Kiczenski is a Great Lakes-based adventurer and photographer with an obsession for dark skies and northern lights. She says this world is full of beauty, waiting to be discovered, and that’s she shifted her career from automotive photography to landscapes and nightscapes. From high-speed, split-second reactions to minute-long exposures of the night sky, the niches couldn’t be any further apart, and she enjoys the challenges of both.
Marybeth feels fortunate to find wonderful people in the nightscaper world who inspire and push her beyond her limits. She has been featured on National Geographic Your Shot and Sky & Telescope, and was awarded an APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day) in 2021. Her hope is to inspire and help others grow in their own journey.
